I failed the first time taking the NCLEX. Do the questions get harder each time you take it?
The NCLEX remains the same. It is not knowledge based; it is how well do you take a test? Look at the phrasing of the questions: "what is the best of the choices" based on what they give you? Pretend you are on a deserted island, and you had to care for an injured person. Based on the choices you see, which one would work the best? Keep in mind, the questions may not be based on acceptable protocol.
Or think of it like this, based on the choices you see, which one is the least harmful? That is probably the answer. People who don't pass the test the first time get hung up on verbiage: the way the question is phrased. That is on purpose.
Remember, you did not study these choices in school, nor would you actually do them as a nurse but again, if you were on a deserted island and had only the choices available to you: which one would be best?
Do not memorize the order of the questions. The content is the same, but the order might be different each time the NCLEX comes out.
Good luck
No, i didn’t pass my first time and to me I seemed to have a better understanding of what the questions were asking me. I went all the way to 145 questions my second time so don’t let that number deter you! At the end of the day once you have your license it doesn’t matter how many questions you got! I used Archer Review for questions as it was the most like the NCLEX, Mark K for content, and the 7 day review from Nclex crusade international which is free on YouTube (I only went to day 4 or 5 though)! Good luck you got this!
