Don’t bother trying to study a textbook. Best thing to do is get registered for the test, then answer 200 questions a day on a test bank program, Kaplan or Lippincot. Using that strategy, I was in and out of NCLEX in less than an hour. Done in 75 questions.
Agree with everyone else—do practice questions. Read the question thoroughly and always go with your first answer.
You should do the practice tests, But do not study or take practice tests the day before the test. Use that day to rest and relax. If you overstudy and are not relaxed you will not do well on the test. Be prepared for sudden changes in the level of difficulty of the test and sudden stops by the test. Take time to relax before the test.
Uworld gave me a good estimated score of how I would do and it was accurate. I felt confident going into my NCLEX. I did two 100Q assessments and 4 self made quizzes in between.
I used uWorld for my preparation. I read all the rationales. I passed on the first attempt. Definitely worth the money.
I used archer when I took my nclex, I probably only studied for about three weeks straight and did about 200 questions a day, and only the areas that I really struggled with. I made sure to only do questions in the middle of day and take the night off. I got plenty of sleep, but disciplined myself to study every day, and I passed my nclex and 75 questions. When you were reading these questions, read them very carefully and break it down. However, you need to and trust your instincts.
Take a good review course - it’s worth the $ - and pay attention!
