Is there a time frame when you must take the nclex after graduated from nursing school in NYS?
You should sit for your exam as soon as you are eligible. The thought behind this is you have just finished your studies, have been doing practice exams in school, and all that knowledge is "fresh" in your mind. You are primed and about as ready as you will be to take it. Delaying rarely works in your favor. Good luck!!

It is advisable that you take the NCLEX exam immediately after completing nursing school if you want to get licensed and work immediately as there could be a lag time. The timing of the exam varies but there is no specific timeframe to complete the exam. Go to the NYS Board of Nursing website and obtain the guidelines and requirements to sit for the exam. Best of luck!
Best take the NCLEX within a month of finishing school
