Hello. Any hospitals hiring new grads RN (Associate’s nursing) in NY/NJ? Appreciate your help!
Congratulation. Please continue your education, even though we have a shortage of nurse, many institutions are hiring nurses with a Associate degree.
Ask for recommendations from your friends.
Apply at the institution that you had your clinical. I always stress to the students that I mentor to establish a good rapport with your preceptor. She or he can be an excellent resource. During your clinical please be eager to learn
The public hospitals in NY hire new grads so anything with the name NYC Health + Hospitals. There are 27 locations so lots of opportunities. I signed up for their alerts via email and would get all the job fair information. Very informal and probably the easiest way to get a foot in the door. I’m not familiar with NJ but if CT is an option, check out the Yale Nee Haven system. They have campuses all over and some are close to NY (about 30 minutes). Best of luck.
I’m a nurse educator at Harlem and would love to refer you. They are new grad friendly!!
The further down south you go in NJ the better your chances are for finding a hospital position with an ADN, the hosp. systems in the northern part of the state are mostly all magnet or trying to attain magnet so they don't interview ADN nurses.
Also if you are looking for a non-hospital positions agencies are hiring like crazy (my first new grad job was an agency and it gave me a ton of flexibility to keep applying/interviewing while also working and having an income.) Best of luck, and if you're interested in a school nurse position let me know I know of an opening very willing to hire a new grad.
Hi, congratulations! I am also a new grad and I applied directly to hospitals websites and while many did not look at me some did.
I am an educator at a Hackensack Meridian Health facility. We have RN residency programs for new grads. BSN is preferred but I’ve been told associate degree nurses have to complete BSN within 3 years of hire
NYC hospitals do not hire new grads or experienced nurses with ADN as staff, period! You may be considered as a traveler with ADN, but not as staff.
Lots! Syracuse has Crouse and Upstate hiring new grads.
Yes Hackensack Meridian Healthcare Center in NJ.
Congratulations on your finishing and Passing. We’ve all been there…..As far as applying. I had a ADN Nursing degree when I started as well. And got hired at NYP (Presbyterian). Only due to my Specialty, Operating Room . Try your luck. You never know. Start a BSN pronto . Good luck ! And enjoy the Nursing journey!
Hi, ADN nurse here. I would look into Cooper University Heath Care. I’ve never worked there, but I know they are recruiting for ADNs. Good luck!
No I don't thinks they're recruiting but if they are recruiting out of country or globally then it is appreciable.
It is hard to find a position with little experience. To attract new grads, who DO have much to offer, some home health agencies have new grad mentoring programs. That would be great on a resume. Bayada, Bayada Pediatrics, and Maxim are good agencies. - Eileen Mezzo
