Looking For a job as a Dialysis Nurse Willing to be trained around seattle washington
From what I heard Fresenius is the top dog in the industry. I trained with DaVita. I don’t have nothing to compare it to.Take into consideration who the managers are.
Look on DaVIta or Fresenius's websites. There are probably lots of listings. If not, move to Oregon! We need you here!
Both Davita and Fresenius have new dialysis RN training programs. If you’re a new grad, I know Davita will train you for both Acute and Chronic dialysis, and you will get paid training both classroom and on site. New grads are favored because the big corporate dialysis companies can pay a lot less than for experienced nurses.
They will also train experienced nurses with no dialysis experience. I would look into both companies and see what is available in your desired area. Also look into whether you want fast paced (chronic) with no on call or higher acuity with lower ratios but mandatory on call (acute).
Some companies have a bigger market share in a certain area and that often means a bigger budget. I started as a new grad in acutes with Fresenius more than a decade ago. We were paid very well for new grads compared to those starting out working floors or other areas in nursing.
They need dialysis nurses everywhere and we don’t grow on trees, especially those of us who have been doing it for years and know other modalities (apheresis, CRRT, peritoneal). Hope this helps!
