Adventist Health Bakersfield remains Kern County’s leader for heart care. In 2016, Health grades®, an online resource for information on physicians and hospitals, recognized Adventist Health Bakersfield as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care and Coronary Intervention. Adventist Health Bakersfield was one of only two hospitals in the entire state of California, and the first in Kern County, to receive both of these recognitions. The Bakersfield facility has over 2,100 employees and 651 affiliated physicians and 254 beds. Tehachapi's state-of-the-art 25-bed critical access hospital boasts service lines not offered in Tehachapi for decades, including gastrointestinal lab rooms, general operating rooms and a unit offering a higher level of care for our patients.
