Have you ever received any good advice from a patient?

yes! you must take the time to listen even when you don't have the time. a patient noticed how hard i was working and trying to do a good job even though i kept getting interrupted. she knew i had young children and she told me that no job was worth having an early heart attack due to never ending job stress, and that my kids needed me even more than my patients. what she said stayed with me and i eventually left that job because it really was killing me. a lot of our patients have more life experience than we do so listen up as they have good advice if you are willing to interact and listen.
