I love helping people deal with their anxiety pre op by providing information, taking my time and just offering my self, expertise and experience ( 38 yrs ICU, CCU,CSU,PSYCH,ETC) People are scared, annoyed, hungry , whatever. It is my pleasure to meet them where they are, get a good sence of why they're here, put them at ease, sometimes preventing procedures that shouldn't have been scheduled bc of many things ... but if we can just slow the whole thing thing down just a hair we can actually speed up the day by eliminating problems , oh you did take your coumadin yesterday? Oh you did eat a burrito for lunch yesterday? Oh , you have diabetes and are on Ozempic , so many problems averted and we can get someone else in, correctly instruct this one and still have them leave feeling like a human being who was treated with dignity. I love my job. We have a great team. Go Pres!
