You can always upskill to ICU and ER
I’d say anything! I am currently an ICU nurse ECMO specialist. My previous role was a tele nurse. Tele nurses have multitasking down to an art and just need to show they are willing to humbly learn a new craft.
Any PCU or ICU.
STEP DOWN, ICU, ELECTROPHORESIS, CARDIAC CATH, OR, PREOP, PACU, CCU, PEDS NEONATAL ICU, ER
Pretty much any unit in the hospital most units have patients on telemetry. Surgical units tend to have more telemetry patients than others. Cardiac patients have surgeries and they have to be monitored.
Cardiac Cath lab, PACU, Pre-Op, intermediate units off the top of my head.
Cath lab, cardiac icu, teaching telemetry, cardiology office
I have 30 years of cardiac telemetry experience. If you notice online, there are many opportunities that you have find in telemetry not just in the acute care hospital setting. Having telemetry experience opens the doors to many possibilities out there! Good luck in your job search!
A PACU position is a possibility. Also, running stress tests for an outpatient facility. I was able to become a Procedural Sedation RN because of my Telemetry experience (administering midazolam and fentanyl for Moderate Sedation). Good Luck!
