I am a nurse-certified diabetes care and education specialist who hasn't worked in about 3 years. I want to return to work but my specialty doesn't have openings near me. Recruiters say I have been out of work too long. How do I return?
My state has few openings and when they show up, they are at university affiliated hospitals. Have you considered remote work as a CDCES? There are several companies looking for RN CDCES. Again, this is work from home/remote. Are you attending your state and national AADE conferences so you can network? Making connections in a small market is helpful. I wish you well. Please post when you get your dream job. We can all use the good news.
Look into Case Management more specifically Chronic Care Speciality
What kind of recruiters?? Are you applying to facilities directly??
Home health has lots of education and hands on. Another option is Case Management for an insurance carrier or medical group. Contact your county health dept for seasonal openings giving flu shots to have recent experience, too.
