Just be aware, typically the company is looking for eliminating charges that may be deemed duplicitous, unnecessary, or unwarranted. These changes may fall onto a patient if the provider is not paid! Maintain anonymity if possible by working in the background.
Psychiatric Nurse Triage over the phone is an option, but one that has great potential for encountering decompensated patients requiring emergency intervention frequently in very high probability, phone work is potentially risky legally, and frequently creates splitting between providers and support staff secondary to alleged incidents that may not be grounded in reality. But complaints may be real, have to be addressed from an advocacy standpoint, and may lead to many kinds of disagreements over the handling of said incidents by those defending against the implications r/t allegations!
Crisis Line RNs typically have stringent protocols requiring coordination of EMS and Psychiatric LIP interventions if necessary. Proceed with caution! And remember; all cell phones can be pinged by the police even if the patient hangs up and turns the phone off after declaring danger to self or others. Act Accordingly if Police involvement is necessary.
Writing Psychiatric Care Plans can be lucrative. I cannot tell you how many I have helped other RNs write over the years; dozens at least.
By teleconference is the only thing that comes to mind. Let me know what you find out because most companies want licensed therapists and not nurses.
