Why is there any jobs for mental health nurse practitioners? I see nurse practitioners jobs which it is most towards Family, Adults, Emergency.
One institution that is very much in need of PMHNP’s and RN’s is the VA.

One “positive” outcome of COVID was the universal recognition of the importance of Mental Health. Some of the horrible stigma that kept many from seeking, securing, & receiving treatment for their mental health needs has fallen to the wayside. Unfortunately it took a Horrific Pandemic that cast everyone into some form of Mental Health Crisis for Mental Health to be deemed “Important” or “Significant.” It was as though a switch was flipped and people realized “wow, maybe mental health IS important.” We saw phenomenal loss of life, including a number of Medical Professionals completing Suicide.
Before the pandemic, our Nation’s Heroes, Veterans, have borne the burden of a dedication to protect us that lead to engagements that damaged their body, mind, and spirit. They are an entity that have a phenomenal loss of life via suicide, pre & post-COVID.
I think we forget that these Heroes began their career, their dedication as “normal” people who were someone’s little boy or little girl.
However, these men & women were among an elite few with the courage to have the Entire Nation’s Six.
So please by all means learn, be, and do what you can to help our Veterans!

I recently spoke with an NP from the Eastern Shore region of Virginia who says the clinics there are desperate for Psych NPs. If you are willing to relocate you might look there.
It may be the area you are in. Mental health jobs across the board are on the increase. You may want to check with your local psychiatrists and mental health facilities. Sometimes they don't get picked up because of the way they are advertised. They do need many more nurse practitioners in mental health because that patient population has grown tremendously.
My acute care hospital , uses a lot of them. We have an inpt psych unit. Mostly they are RNs that already were in the health system and obtained Psych NP .
There is a great need for Psychiatric NP's in Michigan
Search Indeed there are many remote PMHNP positions
Have you searched indeed for remote PMHNP opportunities?
YES! try a state facility, they are starting to use NPs there.
Also if you are inclined the jails and prisons use NPs.
Try Landmark Health careers.
They normally work as supervisor in a mental health facility
Check you local Hospital and Psychiatrists many are looking for NP
Any interest in home health? One on one type of visit?
You may want to look at residential/drug rehab treatment centers for kids, teens and adults. You can also look at the department of corrections or juvenile corrections in your county. Also, search for psychiatric nurse practitioners - you may have better luck.
Your speciality is a good one, but not utilized in all facilities. I suggest seek employment in a VA with psychiatric/mental health units.
