Hi! I’m currently in my last year of High school and I have so much interest in becoming a pediatric nurse! I would love to get some advice on where to start from the beginning to get on the right track to my career and what to avoid. Thank you!

Congratulations! I would volunteer at the local hospital. In the (nursery there may be added caution to bring volunteers) Why? Because it readies you for nursing school. You will be able to see the daily functions of each department or a single department. Simultaneously, I would enroll in a CNA program (not a medical assistant program). I would then enroll in an accredited LVN program. 90% of your learning is in the LVN program, so it is important to attend a junior or standard state LVN program rahter than a volcational program. That is my next suggestion. Once you pass the LVN program, you can work in the hospital per diem with a preceptor. Good Luck :)
