Is there any chance of me being hired after being in a hiatus for 13 years while being continually overlooked due to my age of 55 and thriving (recruiter from Medicare secretly told me not to waste my time basically because I’m older)😞🥲 💔

Don't allow yourself to think that way. Write down all you have to offer. If you don't believe in yourself chances are an employer will pick up on that.
I am actually 64 and had 25+ years of experience but haven't worked in 10 years. I am considering part time or per diem.
If you aren't already take lots of education for CE's. (Concentrate on your area of interest)
Good luck to us both....we have lots to offer and won't be calling out on Monday cause we partied all weekend!!

Well it prompted me to add an answer 🤣 so here we go. I’m staying positive. If it’s meant to be then it’s meant to be. I would love to feel like I did something and contributed back to my community.

It’s definitely harder to get a job when you’re older. They don’t want to pay for years of experience, especially if you’re going into a new area with minimal experience. They know your time until retirement is short and don’t want to put in the training for you.
