Seldom too old, and the current need for nurses works in your favor. You should ask for a longer than usual orientation, or apply to a hospital that offers one as a matter of course. Also consider taking a refresher course, which, after 5 years, may be required of you. They can be had online and very often at local colleges and universities. Your age is a positive factor, but it's up to you to sell it. You have maturity and professional experience. Make sure you show it to them by speaking about what you have accomplished. Good luck!
I work a Mental health crisis unit and I'm 72, will be 73 in April. So I don't think you're long in the tooth. Experience should come before age, is my opinion. I was 65 when I started the job I have now.
