Would you leave a state for another state with safer patient ratio (and move family as well)? Especially if your current job is unsafe and you have horrible supervisors.
Yes. This industry will burn you out. You have to think long term, a job is just a job.
I would consider doing that. The reason I moved out to California from the east coast as a traveling nurse is because the nurse to patient ratios weren’t safe. California has a ratio law that protects us. So that is the reason I stayed and raised my kids out here .
Yes especially if it’s good neighborhood and schools. Check out the area before moving but if it’s good then GO!!
Yes! I'm in this to help people, not put them and myself at risk.
Yes
Yes. I would also consider a hospital with Nursing Unions.
Definitely
It definitely would be one of the considerations. I have little tolerance for unsafe working conditions and poor leadership.
Darla,yes I would in a minute

Oh! Absolutely, yes.
We have worked so hard for our licenses. Do what you need to do to protect it.
Making the decision to leave one's current RN position for a role in another state with better patient ratios and a safer environment can be challenging, especially when considering variable factors which may impact you. Some of the factors I would consider are Patient Safety and prioritizing of patient care, a supportive work environment with good leadership, professional growth and advancement. Additionally, Work-Life Balance and how a move might impact this factor.
Ultimately, if the potential benefits outweigh the risks and challenges of relocation, pursuing a safer, more supportive nursing position could be the right choice for me. therefore, I would trust my instincts and prioritize those what will best create the ideal situation for my career and well being.
yes
We need to make it a safer environment for all patients no matter what state. I don't see as a group demanding changes and holding to them. The facilities answer always is more pay. I respect my license more than that.
Maybe, depends on other lifestyle factors. And the affordability of travel between new location and family.
you have a license to protect.... most states will allow you to transfer your license
Yes I can, but right now I m not passed nclex exam also I came in USA recently
Ideally, yes absolutely. However, I'm not able to move due to having a stepdaughter only living with us part time and we would no longer have regular contact with her.
I can accept to relocate to another state
Why go to that extreme? I am assuming your spouse has a job, kids are in school. How about changing hospitals or going to a clinic, health insurance agency, a government ir state job? If you truly do not like the state you are living in and your spouse can find another job easily and kids do not mind, then go for it. If you are single try travel nursing to see other states and options.
Yes, some people might leave a state for another state with a safer patient ratio, especially if their current job is unsafe and they have poor supervisors Through the literature review, we found that various factors influence nurses' intention to leave their organization including demographics, quality of work life, job satisfaction, leadership style, organizational commitment, work environment, job satisfaction, motivation, job security, family reason, and bullying at .
I love where live, having unsafe patient ratio and horrible supervisors on the other hand is not good. Wish we can have safe patient ratio where I live and better leader, not just hiring managers with no prior bedside experience. Thats what make the so horrible not knowing what it's like to place oneself in one's shoes, empathy, because they've never been there .
Yes,depending on what age my children are and which grades they are in school. It would not be ideal, but if I was in a small or limited market (only one employer in town) I would consider it.
Initially, yes, I would, but you must explore all options which is beneficial to yourself and your family
I am from South Dakota. Have spent the last 9 years working as a travel RN to find the BEST environment for work as a nurse, but also where patients get the BEST healthcare. (I am in my 50’s now). California is the best place for us. There is also a new law here that allows anyone over 50 to apply for Medicaid when no longer working. So healthcare expenses will not bankrupt your spouse/family or cause them to lose their home. I’ve saved my whole life, but my partner not so much! I worry I will outlive him and retirement funds may run out before we’re both gone…
