I work in an acute psych private hospital in CA, and staffing is getting dangerous. I’ve used the “Assignment Despite Objection” form to protect my license. But what admin is doing is not only unsafe but unethical. Who can I report this to & how?

By law, California has a minimum staffing ratio of 1:6 in psych at all times. If your hospital is violating that law you can file a complaint with the California Department of Public Health here:

Report the staffing issue to the state board. Check state laws to see what are mandatory staffing ratios. MOST important CALL your State rep / congressman
Have everyone (techs and nurses) call them WEEKLY! Ask them to sponsor Safe Staffing Laws.
