The shosrt answer is "no". That said, back in the 1990's during the war with Iraq (Opertion Desert Storm) there was talk of drafting nurses and physicians under the age of 52 who were ICU and ER specialists. This never went any where but I went to a recruiter just the same figuring, if they reinstituted the draft, I would have a better chance getting an assignment of choice if I signed up voluntarily. It never came to that. Who knows what congress would do if we entered a really big war and needed medical/nursing staff. But right now, no, nurses and pgysicians cannot be drafted.

No, the draft is no longer in use, it's an all volunteer force, you can volunteer to join the Reserves and then be activated to Active Duty.
