Looking for recommendations for online MSN programs. Would like to know which path is better FNP or PHNMP?
No I need to do MSN
Tough call. Look at long term opportunities to take multiple paths. Nursing can be a long and interesting career if you dont get boxed in.
Best
The answer depends on your target job & career.
I wanted Neonatal NP & after I’d completed the masters program, I found hospitals in the west expected 3-5 years as an NNP then doctoral. So the requirements changed. I also found the hospitals (10) I interviewed with had decided to fund MD not NP- so there were no jobs. Despite my education, references, 20 years experiences, someone “changed the finish line in my race. “
So buyer beware- know what you’re getting in to. Deborah Alg, CNS, NNP
University of Texas at Arlington has a great online program and very affordable
From what I am hearing from my nurse friends, PHNMP is the best right now. There is a greater need for mental health right now so go for it.
