WCEI offers wound certification but you have to have certain hours of wound care experience
WCEI offers wound certification but you have to have certain hours of wound care experience. They can also be a little pricey. Some employers might be willing to pay for your certification. There are also free webinars out there all you need to do is sign up.
There are multiple online classes that you can get Certified as a wound nurse.

If you have an idea of where you would like to practice wound care such as a hospital or clinic then find out what type of school they prefer you attend i.e Emory, Cleveland Clinic etc. Gold Standard programs, and what type of certification or degree they want. Do they want WOCN or WCC or WCEI? Usually, human resources will have those answers. If you just want to learn more about wound care see if you can shadow a wound care nurse for half day or full day.
There are many courses offered on Wound Training. There is also a Wound Nurse Professional Organization. If you have a Wound Care Staff at your facility, talk with them. There are so many opportunities out there. Good Luck.
