Hi

September 1st, 2024

My name is Mary. Out of retirement as ADN. Last job was nurse consultant for insurance company in 2008. Was taking care of mother and sister with kidney and cancer illness. Passed away. No recent bedside care. Did apheresis before nursing. Keep hitting brick wall of no recent bedside experience. I live in Dupage County close to many hospitals. I exercise everyday to be ready for work but keep getting passed over. I wish our governor would initiate some kind of program so retired nurses can work in hospitals to learn and be productive. I would even work for free for a month or two if need be. I did not forget how to be compassionate. I have these skills but I don't feel needed. What nursing shortage?
