Why is it so hard for me to change specialties? I've done my research and found great hospital systems to apply for. However, as a three year ICU trying to change Labor and Delivery, my application gets denied for out of state fellowships.

On your resume, try to include any maternity patients you have taken care of (care included patients with PPH, preeclampsia/eclampsia, disseminated intravascular coagulation, HELLP syndrome, placenta issues, ruptured uterus, amniotic embolism, prolapsed uterus, sepsis from mastitis or uterus, DVT, stroke, etc.) and/or if you can identify any of the signs and symptoms for any of these 🤷🏻‍♀️

Perhaps introduce yourself to the manager. Your ICU experience proves you are and excellent learner of complex concepts.
