If there was ONE thing you wish your administration knew about your job, what would it be?
That it’s rarely ever about the quantity i.e nurse-to-patient ratio, but about the quality of the care that a nurse could provide if not so inundated with additional ancillary work.
Don’t enjoy going home and feeling like I was physically unable to do my best bc of lack of staffing and administrative support
I expect my Administrater to fully understand my job. How else can they guide me or correct me.
How caregiver burnout, is not just a term that relates to family. When we ask for help, breaks, more staff, we’re doing so because we have our patient safety in mind, not ourselves.
How much responsibility a nurse really has
Well I would love to have them job shadow me on a busy day and see what I go through. No bathroom break for hours, combative patients, and getting mandated to stay over when someone calls in while they get to leave and go home to their family at 4:30Maybe they would see things different and appreciate the floor staff a little more!
