Yes, you can get an Oncology Nurse job without experience … if you pass the job interview wherein you convince the hiring team that this is what you want to do and is willing to be trained. That’s how I ended up many years ago when I transferred from CCU/ICU. The other route is to join a hospital Oncology Fellowship program/training which is often offered in any hospital.
In my hospital, yes you can. Preceptorship for 3 months is enough to get you started. However, in my 36 years of working med-surge oncology, it will take about 3 years, (yes, 3 years), to really make you truly feel confident about your clinical practice bedside. This is my own observation watching new nurses coming in all these years. In oncology, you will see and experience a lot! I love it until now. I find it very satisfying. Good luck. Treat your patients as you would want you and your loved ones to be taken cared of.
Not usually. There is specific job related training you will need.
I have the experience of 3 years in oncology department, if there is any occasion of getting a job in oncology you may notice/inform me
It's a difficult to work in oncology department because All activities performed there are require the experiences
