What are the typical duties and tasks performed by medical-surgical nurses during a shift?

Vital signs, starting IVs, turning patients along with skin care , serve meals , assist coworkers as needed , administer meds, monitor very often for new doctors orders, then follow through ordering labs, X-rays etc.
Visit with patients , patient’s families , take specimens to lab , carry out mobility orders for your patients , Documentation, calls ( physician, pharmacy, Xray, dietary etc
