Should I feel bad I don’t like ER nursing ? I’m currently on orientation for my 12 weeks but I don’t like it . Everyday I have to push myself to go and that’s not how I want to feel about my job .
Hello. First, you don't have to feel bad about what you like and don't like. It is your choice.
However, it is important to determine what you dislike about something. It will help you decide whether you would benefit from continuing in your current position.
Is it the people you work with, the hospital you work for, or the type of work that you don't like?
ER nursing is not for everyone, and that is OK.
Usually, when a person starts a new job and reaches the three-month mark, they begin to wonder, "What have I done?" Then, at six months, they begin to like what they are doing.
If you have disliked it from the beginning, then maybe it is the type of nursing.
If you started to dislike it as you got to know your co-workers or mentor, it may be a case of bullying.
If the hospital is not supportive, then it may be where you work.
Without more information, it is difficult for me to give you concrete advice.
But maybe what I have given you will help you love what you do or find a better fit.
Good luck to you.
