I have been working on a medical/surgical telemetry unit for almost 1 year. My long-time passion has been to work as a NICU nurse. Any tips/advice on how to get there?

Try to get into a pediatric med surg unit and after 2 years attempt getting u to a NICU residency

Agree with transferring to a general peds floor, then PICU. Many nurses that work in picu are also working in nicu or transfer to NICU.
