Actually I was already at the hospital working as a CNA, once I could show proof of passing Immediately started orientation for my new position.
about 6 months! I waited to apply until the new grad programs were available and I only applied for my desired units (maternity, NICU, L&D) so that limited me a bit
This was 11 years ago now, but it took me 6 months to find my first job. Nursing is cyclical. At the moment it should be easier to find jobs as post pandemic a lot of us are looking to leave the bedside.
I had my job as a Graduate Nurse before I took the NCLEX
I had my first job before passing.
Immediately! I had already interviewed and we were just waiting for the test results.
Was working at UCI on the new Grad program. Immediately!
I was hired as a GN (Graduate Nurse). I worked the floor with other nurses who signed behind my assessments for a month until my NCLEX score was available.
A couple of months I think; stay encouraged !
I started the Monday following passing the nclex. I worked at the faculty as a nurse aid prior, so I just switched roles.
2 months
2.5 months
Had my job offer before even taking my NCLEX.
I was
That day !
Few months after I received results, coz I started working as an LPN while waiting for my RN boards, I was 21 yr old and already a bread winner to my siblings and family.
I was a GN before taking the NCLEX, and once I passed, I continued my position as BSN RN.
Thereβs still plenty of facilities that hire GNs before you even take the NCLEX.
I had already secured a position in a new grad program before taking the NCLEX, I just had to be sure to pass it. Though it was extra pressure, it was refreshing to know that I could relax after passing until time to start orientation.
I've been a nurse for 30 years and I was in a nurse residency program, so I was working as a RN before passing the NCLEX. But if you didn't pass (thankfully I did) you had to drop down to a CNA until you passed.
