I’ll be graduating nursing school in May, when would it be appropriate to start applying for RN positions?
Now! Apply to New Grad positions.
Now! If you're looking in Washington, DC, MedStar Georgetown is hiring for their July 2022 cohort Nurse Residency Program and was a great place to start my nursing career 7 years ago. It's one of only 2 Magnet hospitals in DC and by far has the best nursing culture in the region.
If your choice of employment offers an internship find out when they start taking applications. Otherwise I would wait until March or April.
Apply when you have booked your appointment to sit for your NCLEX examination. Once that is set, you’ll be ready to accept the position once you have passed with flying colors!!!
Hi! I would start applying immediately as the hiring process is lengthy. This unprecedented time with Covid, the interviews and the ability to immediately screen applications is taking longer than usual. Feel free to reach out at [email protected]. I’m a Assistant Nurse Manager and would be happy to assist you with anything.
I would begin applying as soon as you are scheduled to take boards. Some employers will hire as long as they know you have boards scheduled. If for some reason you don’t pass on your first try they will keep you on in a different position but at least you have your foot in the door. Good luck
Depends on the job but generally after you test. If you have your Lpn and can work as one until your boards are passed then apply early.
