Considering moving to Dallas, what are the best hospitals to work at in the area?

Baylor United Medical Center, UT Southwestern, Children’s Health

Anything but HCA/Medical City. With you to death, low pay, constantly on your back to “be mindful of productivity” but use the most archaic charting system.

any Baylor Hospital or UT Southwestern. Avoid Parkland like the plague.

Baylor, Parkland, UTSW, JPS, Methodist

Well it kind of depends on what you are looking for.

For peds there is Children’s in Dallas, Scottish Rite in Dallas, and Cook’s in Fort Worth.

Methodist has several hospitals in/ around Dallas. Their Dallas campus is level 1 trauma, as is Parkland, and Baylor Dallas.

If you enjoy working on a burn unit, Parkland is your hospital.

I have heard great things from people who work at UT southwestern.

There are a ton of options in the DFW area. I personally had a great experience with Methodist Dallas and Children’s Dallas.

None, Texas hospitals are severely underpaid as compared to other states, especially east Texas area!

I liked working with THR (Dallas Presbyterian), and their benefits are pretty good too. Methodist is good too, and the people are really nice! I know a realtor that could help as well if you do decide to move to Dallas!

University of Texas, any location is good but UT Dallas is the clear leader. They are very picky tho.

I’ve worked with UTSouthwestern and now Medical City Dallas. I Love EPIC charting as it’s the best but, I’m making considerably more money at Medical City Dallas. I’ve been an RN for 13 years. Benefits at UT are good but like all facilities there are issues. Medical City Dallas uses Meditech so paper charts. Assessment and other things are done in Meditech and medication is done electronically. If you are still a floor/bedside nurse, UT has better nurse to patient ratios. I’m working on a Day Surgery unit at MCD and I love it. If HCA would go to EPIC charting, I’d consider my job the closest I’ve come to my dream job. Hope this information helps.
