When should I start applying for nursing jobs? I graduate from nursing school in August of 2023 with my BSN/RN.

Depends on the hospitals in the area you want to work. Pick the top two or three you want to work for and find out when their residency program starts accepting applications. Have yours ready to go so you aren’t last in line as they send out interview emails. Also, don’t limit yourself on what you apply to based on old nurse wisdom.

I am going to graduate on December 2022 and I did not realize how early these positions open up. I’ve been applying to new grad positions since August which is basically when my last BSN semester started. I advise that you get started with your resume now, so that when May rolls around, you are prepared to apply to the places you’d like.
