Interview Question Advice: "Do you prefer to work alone or as part of a team?"

As an ICU Nurse, there is no such thing as being able to function alone. You have your team there when things go down! Which they do! You cannot save a patients life by working alone. So, I prefer a team.

I feel comfortable in my ability to work alone when assessing and caring for my patients, but I prefer to work as part of a close-knit team that values support, cooperation, and learning from each other. There are countless scenarios that come up in bedside nursing in which having a solid team at your side is not just a preference, but a necessity, so putting in the time and effort every single shift to build and reinforce that team is a huge priority for me, because it can literally be a matter of life or death for our patients.
