I’m currently new to the Bay Area and a new grad nurse.I’m looking for a residency program or entry level rn position.How do I stand out on the application and get an interview?

Depends what unit you are looking into applying for, ICU and ED are more competitive. I recommend looking up interview questions to prepare, some hospitals interview with case study questions where they give you a scenario in which you are required to use the nursing process to work through . Look for unit specific questions and research the hospital you’re applying for.

Hi! My answer has two parts. First, your best chance of getting an interview is to apply to either a VA Medical center or a medical center affiliated with a university having residency programs. Next, review the medical center's vision for the future. During the interview remember to "toot your own horn "about how you can help produce outcomes related to the vision. Good luck. You can do this.

What extra activities have done? Get as many certificates in other areas to show your diligence. Volunteer for any of the hospital activities. Go to Medlineuniversity.com and create an account for free and do ALL the CE’s
