1 year of experience (clinic & school nursing). Anxious (panic attacks at work), and terrified of a mistake/hurting someone. Told I'm too slow and thorough. Don't think I can handle upping stress in hospital either. Please be kind, but any advice?

Hi there,
You’re not alone! Before I start off my day, even before my shift I tend to find information regarding a patient whom I’ve scheduled for at least 24 hours before my shift (ADL/family member/s/etc) so I have a full understanding on what is needed and what I should expect. With that ,it saves a lot of time and effort and stress on your part! And also communication is very important (especially for the higher ups in the agency, so they are also aware of your needs and expectations). Do not hesitate to reach out and ask questions, that’s what they’re there for! Also, be very kind to your mind and know that you’re doing your very best especially at times where it gets stressful. Stay positive and stay blessed
