I graduate nursing school may 2025, when is a good time to start job hunting. When I do so, should I be looking for new grad programs or RN jobs. I really want to work in L&D. Where should I look for job?
You can start around March. Depending on your location, some hospitals offer new grad residency and they start accepting applications months prior. I would take this time to freshen up your resume making sure you add any experience on specific floors during clinical. Especially if its an area of interest.
I worked in Postpartum as a new grad. The hospital I worked at then had a program for new grads. I would look for hospitals offer jobs for new grads. They likely have program for new grads that would allow you to be on orientation for awhile and not just thrown on the floor by yourself after a few days of training.
Start applying now. Summer New Grad Positions are up for application right now and some L&D positions are already filling up. Those go fast.
