Did you start applying for jobs before passing the NCLEX? and how early/when did you start applying?
I did! I started applying early April when I was scheduled to graduate in May and take the NCLEX in June.
They hired me under the assumption I would pass the NCLEX but I did not start working on the floor until I received the test results and graduated.
Yes! 6mo prior I think, and job was offered and wanted for me to pass it before starting but the job was already offered.
Do it as early as possible. Some hospitals will let you work as student nurse while you pass.
I’m a December grad and have already had two interviews (it’s June!).
If you know where you even MAY want to work, reaching out to the recruiter just to ask when that facility/unit/etc. would start looking for your grad time. That’s a great conversation opener and gives you the best answer as they’re really all different.
No. I wanted to make sure before applying for any job. Studying was more important for me.
I started working as a patient care tech right after finishing my first semester of nursing school. This enabled me to get my foot in the door and network with many nurses. As well as to start building a great reputation. I received an offer of employment as an OR nurse towards the end of my last semester and took and passed the NCLEX a couple weeks after graduation. It’s never to early to start laying the ground work for your new career.
I start applying for jobs after taking BS degree and if i has a chance,i will b accepted
Hi
I had a job before the NCLEX and passed the first time! I even began my education classes for the new grad program prior to passing, and oriented to the floor. My ADN program gave us CNA certification after so many clinical hours, so I had that to fall back on if I didn't pass.
No I did not apply before. Wanted to avoid extra pressure. Step by step
Yes, I had already applied and accepted a position two to three months out before graduation. The sooner, the better, in my opinion. It helped motivate me to study hard to pass.
No, because I didn’t want to be embarrassed if I didn’t pass.🫣
Yes, a month before graduation, when the first local rn residency positions were posted.
I passed already
