Starting to lose my passion for nursing. What other areas would you recommend going into when you want to leave the bedside?
Remember that, the beauty of nursing is flexibility/mobility. You can keep your passion by finding another job in your field of nursing where you have a specialty. As soon as you start the new post, your passion should continue automatically. Thank you!
Depending upon your level of education, you could move into Case Management. It allows you to be a patient advocate, use you a different set of skills and still be clinically connected.
Also dependent upon your personality, you might enjoy Utilization Review. My personality is outgoing so I never attempted this, it doesn;t allow for much interaction.
I recommend you take a break and so some self-care. I realized that my co-workers, manager and environment was the reason for my attitude change. I got into travel nursing and explored different areas where I controlled the variables. I am much happier. As a staff nurse you have little or no control. As, a travel nurse, you have all the control.
Home base is a good position. I love it myself. I still am doing nursing but I get to know my patients more and able to help
So many options Insurance Nurse Case Management, Community Public Nursing, Nurse in a facility taking care of workers, among many ‼️
