What's the procedure if an instrument count at the end of surgery is incorrect?

An X-ray should be taken (if the inst was left inside pt then it can be retrieved) & an incident report should be done.

The correct procedure is to tell the surgeon and anesthesia.
that the instrument count is incorrect .
Call for an xray and wait for a final report from xray before closure. Fill out an incident report .
