Is it just me that I’m not getting interviews for new grad RN even after applying on career site for many medsurg & icu position in Florida despite huge demand of nurses seen in the news ? Resume proof read by professionals. Any hacks?
Look for hospitals that have a new nurse residency program.
Key terms to search: Nurse Residency Program, New graduate RN program, Transition Program
Look hospitals' websites for new grad hiring events. It's a shorter interview process and they typically make offers on the spot.
I’m not sure about Florida, but where I live, it’s very difficult to get into the ICU without any previous experience in medsurg. 🤷🏻♀️
Hello, I live in Florida. Alot with short staffing are looking for experienced RNs because the patient loads are rough since covid. But don't give up, I don't think anywhere is turning away new grads. Best shot is applying straight to hospitals or companies you're interested in on their website, they look at those first usually and a recruiter gets those. Isually yiu can fund a recruiters info on the sites too and contact them directly. Theyre marketers and always looking to find someone so theyre happy if you find them first. And everyone starts somewhere with no experience, we all have. Biggest thing is you are willing to work hard, and willing to learn is what they look for with newbies. Good luck!
Ps what area of Florida? Maybe I know somewhere I can help more
Hello there,
Look into which hospital systems you are interested in working with. Many facilities/systems have nursing graduate programs. I completed a nurse residency program in 2015 as a new graduate, and I felt it provided me a sound structure to launch my nursing career. The right opportunity will come your way!
I don't know whether this will help, but I've found alot of answers and recruiters on LinkedIn. Variety is huge and you will get noticed. Good luck!
Thanks, all for the kind words.
I am happy to announce I got a great position for new RN :)
Many organizations have quarterly hiring events and programs (internships) that will train you for your specialty area. BayCare has the ENIP and CCIP programs for critical care and emergency. Look out for these
