I have not taken my NCLEX yet. Should I wait until I get my RN license to start looking for nursing positions or start now?
I encourage my students to begin the process prior to graduation!
No. There are internships that will hire u while u study for ur test
I started looking for employment once I had my NCLEX testing date scheduled. Many facilities will work with you. The worst thing they’ll say is no and to apply again when you have your license.
Absolutely start looking now. Many facilities will pre-hire contingent on passing your boards. I personally was hired prior to graduation from school. Some states allow practicing as a graduate nurse for a certain amount of time, such as 90 days, allowing for the gap between graduation and the exam to be scheduled.
I started looking for one before I took my test and had a job lined up as soon as I got it. I’ve seen nurses work as techs get interviewed for RN position and just make the transition when they receive their Lic #
