Do you feel like you received sufficient training and support in dealing with the emotional and psychological demands of nursing while still in school?

In my opinion, when I went to nursing school back in 1986, there was no curriculum about the emotional or physical demands of the job. Not only was I not prepared in that way, but also how to deal with your peers, or mentors bullying when started. Fortunately my personality got me through it all, but it would have been nice to be prepared for the other aspects of nursing such as dealing with patient’s family, death, trauma and how to deal with bully coworkers and H.R.

I am finished with my nursing career over 35 years, made out financially from working hard and consistently. I would not choose it again if I had the chance to do it all over again.

Nurses Christian Fellowship was the best for me. Joining a local support group grounded me, validated me and supported me while guarding confidentiality.
