It’s a specialty. Many hospitals employ wound/ostomy nurses to facilitate wound care after surgery or is requested be the floor nurse. They implement protocols for the floor nurses to follow after they assessed the stomas or wounds. Any nurse can enlist in WOCN courses to get credentials. However research for the ACCREDITED schools out there.
