Is it hard to land a NICU or Labor&D job as a new grad? I’m currently in ADN-Rn program.

Check into nurse residency programs in your area. We have them here in MA and are even training in specialty areas.

Teaching hospitals would rather hire new grads. As someone already mentioned, residency programs are your best bet to land said opportunities. Look into level 4 NICUs, and / or big name hospitals. They usually look for BSNs but will hire ADNs if you agree to obtain your BSN within a certain timeframe. Once
you commit to residency they usually require at least a year if not two. Best of luck!

I was able to go right from being a new grad to L&D ( way back when you didn’t know until May if you had passed the test you took in January) but my current hospital hires new grads all the time.
