I want to be a PICU nurse as a new grad. What should I do on my own time to help me do better on the floor?

Learn more about how to take care of critical ill children! Like read about how to care for a child having an asthma attack and what is needed to help them get better when they get transferred to the PICU for example! Then just pick one condition a week and go through the scenario of how to treat those conditions when they are in the ICU. If you do this ahead of time and learn about various conditions that children could experience and have to be transferred into the PICU then when you feel ready and know the treatments and medications! And don’t for get the different equipment that may be used then you will feel confident that you can work in the PICU !
