What criminal charges can stop you from being a nurse?

ANY major disdemeanor or felony conviction, for starters.....and it doesn't just have to be drug or alcohol related. Some examples:

Most State Boards of Nursing will not license you if you have been convicted of:

• any crime that involves violence, dishonesty, misappropriation, fraud, embezzlement, weapons, or sex crimes.
• more than one drunk driving or related conviction in the past three years.
• a sex offense
