I retired 1 year ago (on Friday ❤️👍🥂). I did renew my license but put it on "inactive" status a few months after retirement since it was so close to my retirement date, and I wasn't sure what I would do or if I ever wanted to go back into nursing. There would have been more 'hoops' and fees (CA LOVES FEES!) if I kept it 'active'.
One year later, and I've decided to not renew it again when it comes around. I'm DONE!
I'm moving in the next 4-6 months and once settled, will then will be helping a friend with her pet transport business ... traveling all over the U.S. picking up and delivering pets to their families who are in transition to new locations or getting pets from other parts of the country, safely to their new homes. DREAM JOB!❤️😻🐶🐴

I would look for a government job. Not necessarily a VA job but DOD.
Hi! My cousin is a retired nurse who works per diem, with her license as an ER liason for a large teaching Hospital. She still is doing what she loves, but in her schedule, different role and no stress.
