It may sound intimidating but correctional nursing or working for a state hospital. It's not dangerous as most think, and actually, depending on location, can be safer than the ER. If you work for the state, especially in California, the pay is very good and lots of overtime opportunities. Great benefits and like most state jobs, if you make this your long term career, you can retire earlier, depending on the years you work for the place, with a good pension/ retirement fund. And if you work your last few years in admin (depending on your location), you will have a very good monthly income upon retirement.
Home health. I hated all10yesrs bedside hospital nursing 5 departments. LOVED 10years home health. Lower paynsurr but higher job satisfaction. Then there is research, admin for home health, doctors offices *(again lower pay).... government jobs like flu shots...
School Nurse, Nurse Consultant, Nursing Informatics, Case Management, Nurse Health Coach, Occupational Nurse, Fight Nurse, Nurse Recruiter, Telehealth Nurse, Hospice nurse, Nurse researcher, Correctional Nurse. There are many. Some may require bedside experience and some may hire you without the experience depending on the need.
