What are the challenges of being a pediatric nurse?

The biggest challenge you will have in Peds is being able to take care of “the family”! You are not just dealing with the patient like you do with the adults! There is a lot of parent teaching! Some families attitudes (ie: anxiety levels )and criticism can be hard to handle sometimes! Social dynamics can also be issues (single parents, drug use of parents, custody issues, blended families where exes don’t get along)

Learning what approach and words to use or not to use depending on the age/mental capacity of the child.
