What do you like or hate about working in the ER compared to other areas?

I love seeing multiple different medical conditions. I loved working in close proximity with the doctors, especially those who loved teaching. I also love the diagnose and treat/home (episodic) care. I personally do not like staying with the same patient trying to figure out months of concerns and trial / error medicine (chronic). I worked ER for several years before deciding to become an NP. My goal was to work urgent care because of episodic care. I'm currently living my goal.
