Does CRNA accept IICU (Intermediate Intensive Care Unit) as Critical Care experience?
No, all or nothing. CCRN is pretty much a mandatory as well which requires 2 years 1750 hours in an adult ICU. Providing direct care to acutely/critically ill patients. They want you to have experience with vasopressors and intubated patients. Which you can't get with intermediate care.
This sounds like a step down unit, so most likely no. Most only take ICU, AICU or CVICU.
I work in an ICU and the only time we use them is during a code or when our open heart patients are brought to the unit immediate post op otherwise we rarely utilize. We have ICU Nurse Practioners, Swat Nursing Supervisor and a Flight Nurse as well as very hands on doctors.
yea because they always need a ICU Nurse doing pharmactical job duties for stabilizing a patient
